Surface Conditions
Post one or more surface conditions, such as groomed, icy, or muddy, for specific trails or your whole trail system.
Surface Conditions tell trail users what the trail surface is like right now. Each condition shows with its own icon on the trail cards you attach it to, or at the top of the Trails menu if you post it for the whole system.
Pair surface conditions with a Notice when you want to add a written explanation.

#Post surface conditions
- Select Updates in the top navigation bar.

- Select Post Update to open the Create Update drawer.

- Select Surface Conditions.

Choose one or more conditions from the Conditions list (required).
Pick an Expiration Date (required) and, optionally, a time. The update disappears when it expires; edit it later to extend it.
Attach update to specific trails is on by default for surface conditions. Choose the Relevant Trails, using the shortcut buttons to select all trails or every trail with a given activity, status, difficulty, or category. Switch the toggle off to post the conditions for the whole trail system instead.
Switch on Notify Subscribers of this Update to email and/or text your subscribers, or leave it off. Subscribers receive "Your Trail System has posted new surface conditions:" followed by a link to your trail system.
Select Save.

#Automatic grooming updates
If you use the Grooming Tracker app (in beta), finishing a track automatically posts a Groomed surface-conditions update for every trail the GPS track covered by more than 10%. These updates expire after 24 hours and never notify subscribers. You can also post conditions from your own systems through the Management API.
