Pausing for the Off-Season
Pause billing at the end of your season and have your plan restart automatically on the date you choose, or book next season's start date in advance.
Many trail systems only operate part of the year. Instead of cancelling every spring and signing up again every fall, you can pause your plan for the off-season and pick the date it restarts. You won't be charged while it's paused, and your trails, points and settings stay exactly as you left them.
Everything below happens at trailhub.org/billing. Log in with your trail manager account first.
#At the end of your season: pause
- Open trailhub.org/billing.
- Click Pause for the off-season.
- Pick the day you reopen: tap a suggested date like Dec 1, or choose your own. The page shows exactly what happens and when.
- Click Pause until [your date].
That's it. You'll get an email confirming the pause and the restart date.
While you're paused:
- No charges. Billing stops until the restart date.
- Visitors see "closed for the season" with your reopening date, on your trail system link, website embeds and QR code. Your system leaves the Explore map until you reopen.
- You can still log in and update trails, points and settings to get ready for next season.
#Before your season: the restart
- A week before the restart date we email you a reminder with your plan and monthly price.
- On the restart date your plan resumes automatically with the card on file, and your public map goes live again. You'll get a "welcome back" email.
- Need a new card? Click Card, receipts & cancellation at the bottom of the billing page and update it before the restart date.
You can change your mind at any time from the billing page:

#Already cancelled? Book your start date
If your plan ended last season, the billing page says Welcome back and shows your previous plan and its price.
- Click Book my season.
- Under When do you open?, keep On a date and pick your date (for example Dec 1). Choose Today to start right away.
- Click Continue to payment and enter or confirm your card with Stripe.
Your card is saved now but not charged until the start date, and your public map goes live that day. Want a different plan? Click Pick a different plan instead; you'll get the same choice of start date after you select one.
Before the start date the billing page shows You're booked, where you can Change start date, Open today instead or Cancel booking. Nothing is charged if you cancel.
#Good to know
- Seasonal pause is for monthly plans. Annual plans are paid for the full year, so there's nothing to pause.
- The restart date must be between 2 days and 11 months from today.
- If a payment has failed, click Update card on the billing page before pausing.
