Lifts and Wait Times

Add lifts to your map as dashed, status-colored lines and post live wait times as numbered points.

TrailHUB has two features for lift-served areas: lifts, which are a trail type, and wait times, which are a point type.

#Lifts

A lift is a trail with its Type set to Lift. Lifts:

  • draw on the map as a dashed line colored by status (green Open, yellow Caution, red Closed);
  • have a name, status, description, and optional categories, but no difficulty or activities;
  • appear only on the map, not in the trail list, and are not counted in the Open / Caution / Closed totals or trail distances;
  • show a lift icon instead of a difficulty marker in their detail drawer.

Lifts are available on every plan.

#Add a lift

  1. Click Trails in the top navigation bar, then New Trail.
  2. Enter a Name.
  3. Under Type, click Lift. The difficulty and activity fields disappear.
  4. Set the Status.
  5. Map the lift line by drawing it on the map or uploading a file. Two points, bottom terminal to top terminal, are usually enough.
  6. Click Save.

#Edit or delete a lift

Because lifts are not in the trail list, click the dashed lift line on the map to open its detail drawer, then click Edit Trail. From the edit form you can change its status, redraw it, or click Trash Trail. You can also change a lift's status with Bulk edit by selecting it from the trail dropdown.

#Wait times

A wait time is a point of interest of type Wait Time. It renders the estimated number of minutes directly on the map above the point's name, colored green for 5 minutes or less, yellow for 6 to 15 minutes, and red for more than 15 minutes.

Wait time points are only available on the Double Diamond and Star plans. On other plans the wait time field is replaced by a notice.

#Add a wait time

  1. Click Points in the top navigation bar, then New Point.
  2. Set Type to Wait Time.
  3. Enter a Name (for example, the lift's name).
  4. Enter the Estimated Wait Time in Minutes.
  5. Click the lift's base on the map to place the point.
  6. Click Save.

#Update a wait time

Click the point on the map or in the Points of Interest list, click Edit Point, change the minutes, and click Save. The number on the map updates once the trail system recompiles, usually within a few moments.
